Worship at Bethesda covers a variety of services including Methodist, Anglican, and United Reformed Church, all done in a variety of styles. We have a monthly communion service, Café style or Messy Church, baptisms, family and morning worship services. We sing to an electric organ and CDs using music from Mission Praise and modern hymns.
The Bible takes centre place in our worship and we meet to grow our faith and build our relationship with God and one another. Sometimes we have a sermon while at other times we discuss in groups a passage from the Bible and how God’s word is relevant to our everyday lives. Many of our services have a creative element and we learn about Jesus in a variety of ways, including participating in an activity or making something.
We have big print versions of our services available if you require them. Our services are relaxed and families with children of all ages are welcome. We understand that children sometimes make noise in a service and that’s OK as we share together making a joyful noise to the Lord!
Our third Sunday of the month service is Messy Church / Café style worship. We sit around tables with cake and a drink and have a short service. We then have the option of moving through to do a craft activity or sharing in an informal group discussion reflecting on the theme of the service. After we have finished our activities we all share lunch together. (See What we do for more information.)
Messy Tuesday happens on the first Tuesday of every month (for more information see What we do), we share afternoon tea, participate in craft activities and games, move through to the Sanctuary and have a 10 minute talk on the theme, which includes singing, and then we share a meal together.
